Hijiri Yahagi was born in Tokyo in 1989.

She left Japan at the age of 19 to continue her studies in the United States.

​

During her four years in the United States, Hijiri devoted himself to the creation and installation of massive art while studying modern art.

​

In 2015, she left Tokyo to finally settle in Gifu to be 100% engaged in making ceramic items around the art of tableware.

​

Her specialty is playing with clay and the temperature of the fire to get a feel of leather on her ceramics.
